There is an urgent need for new homes in The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, including homes that are affordable. The draft Local Plan plans to meet that need by identifying sites to provide at least 1,505 homes in Maidenhead, and at least 14,240 homes across the rest of the Royal Borough in the period to 2033.
The Spencer’s Farm site was designated in the draft Local Plan as being suitable for a residential development of up to 300 homes with educational provision, a junior football pitch, landscape treatment to transition into the countryside, improved connectivity to the public rights of way network, and measures to address the impacts of noise from the railway line.
The draft Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on 31 January 2018 and is currently undergoing examination by an Independent Planning Inspector.
